Harpies & Whores

Harpies and whores
won't make you s'mores
they may be good scores
but always spread sores
you'll be running to stores
and not for the chores
reconsider "getting yours"
behind them locked doors
this, me implores

So give up your wars
sweat out your pores
and dip at them shores
read all the stoic lores
be strong in your cores
use your own oars
clean up the floors
don't be bores
visit Azores
hear our roars



This poem was inspired as I was doing the morning crossword puzzle.  One of the words was "harpy."   I have certainly been "harped at" many times, but I hadn't heard the term "harpy."  Here is the definition:
